Letterform Design Project

Letterform Design Project:

Date: 10/12/17

A letterform design is creating a set of design using only type, and trying to transcend the requirements given.

My job as the designer was to send across a message using only type without telling them directly. For example, for my divide box, I had to get the word divide across to the audience without directly typing out the word, so I made two sides of symbols and made a divide in between them.

Some of the challenges I faced during this project would be that I couldn't use more than three fonts. This posed a problem since for my proportion box, I planned to use a more suitable font for the number 1 because I wanted it to be thinner and taller, but I already chose my fonts and they all weren't what I preferred to use.

I feel that I have successfully completed the project because when I looked around at other people's designs, I found my design to be pretty unique in it's own sense. Plus, I stayed within the requirements and still did a pretty good job creating a unique design.

One thing I would change is that we can use more than just three fonts. Like I said before, one of my challenges in this project was the limited amount of font choices, so if I have had more font choices, I believe my design can be even better than it is now.
