Graphic T-Shirt Project:
Date: 4/20/18
My job for this project was to create a fashionable shirt that anyone can wear with the graphic of whatever company you are promoting. The design had to be something that you would want to wear so it had to look good
First, I made sketches of some designs I might want to do. I made about 10 sketches, and I decided on one that would fit Local’s Live Music the best. Next, I made a graphic and text to go along together, and I use the symbol sprayer to give it a rough feel. I used shape build to combine stuff and then I had it cut. Then I weeded the vinyl and finally I heat pressed the vinyl onto a white t-shirt.
The whole project was really simple, as long as you had a sketch everything just fell in place. The weeding, however, was a little challenging, since I had so many tiny pieces that were a pain to peel off, but overall, it was a lot smoother than the sticker project.
If I can change one thing about my design then it would be the small negative spaces in my text, because it was really hard to peel those off when I was weeding.
I think a good graphic t-shirt design has to be fashionable and also delivers whatever message the graphic is to others. It has to be able to send the types of vibes that it’s meant for.
